Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez’s healthcare initiative for Bacolodnons has effectively provided support for medication and hospital stays, not only in state-run public hospitals but also in reputable private hospitals through the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP).
This program aims to eliminate political patronage during health emergencies.
The mayor is committed to ensuring that Bacolodnons do not have to wait in long lines at his office during health crises, recognizing that government bureaucracy can jeopardize lives when families are still waiting for health assistance.
The BacCHP has simplified and improved the experience for enrolled individuals. When entering a private hospital for confinement, patients will not face delays, especially in situations where they cannot afford admission fees.
Under the BacCHP, individuals receive automatic access to private hospitals, with coverage of up to P15,000 for hospital bills.
With both the BacCHP and Philippine Insurance coverage, patients and their families can find relief during hospital stays, alleviating the financial burden and worries that come with medical emergencies.
As of February 2025, the program has successfully served a significant number of Bacolodnons.
